The Agriculture Workers Area is the largest employer in the unorganized sector in Kerala. The agricultural labor welfare fund of 1990 has been amended by the Amendment to Section 8 of the Kerala Agricultural Employment Act, 1974. This is the welfare scheme directly undertaken by the Government.

Membership

All the agricultural laborers in the age group of 18 years and below 55 years are eligible to be eligible for the welfare of the applicants. Allocation

1. The worker's contribution is Rs. 5 per month. Under the scheme, the welfare fund will be allotted at the District Cooperative Bank branches or in the District Offices of the Welfare Board.

2. Land holders up to half hectare from a hectare are to be paid Rs. 10 per year. The landowners above 1 hectare are required to pay Rs. 15 per hectare per year.

Benefits

Retirement

A member who owed him over 40 years continuously for 40 years has a right to a retirement benefit of Rs.25,000. Upon completion of the age of 60, the Welfare Fund Officer should submit the application in the prescribed format. The original pass book / identification card and the applicant's identity certificate should be submitted along with the Identity certificate issued by the Village Officer.

Post mortem

If a person dies after a period of at least 12 months of age (60 years), the nominee will get post-mortem. The worker will be considered retired on the date of death. The short-term benefit is Rs. 1000 and Rs.625 for the year.

The application in the prescribed form for this benefit should be submitted within six months from the date of the death of the member along with the required documents.

Educational Benefits

The scholarships will be based on the marks obtained by the district level each year to a limited number of students passing SSLC, Plus, VHS, ITC, Polytechnics, Graduation and Post Graduate Certificate from Government Authorized Educational Institutions.
